Zhishuai (Z) Zhang's  CV

I am a Research Geophysicist in the Strategic Research Team at Chevron. Before joining Chevron, I was a postdoc scholar of the Stanford Rock Physics & Borehole Geophysics Project (SRB). I received a Ph.D. (2017) in geophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.S. (2012) in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University, and a B.S. (2010) in physics from Nankai University. My research interests include microseismic, borehole geophysics, rock physics, and geomechanics, with a focus on hydraulic fracturing monitoring of unconventional reservoirs.

Research Summary

Microseismic imaging of hydraulic fracturing
Rock physics
Unconventional reservoirs
Subsurface inverse problem
Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS)
Borehole seismic
Geomechanics

Education

PhD, Applied Geophysics, University of California, Berkeley, 2017
MS, Petroleum Engineering, Texas A&M University, 2012
BS, Physics, Nankai University, 2010
